How we work
Remsol is a flexible, can-do business. This means that we will adapt the scope and range of services we are able to provide in order to meet your specific needs.
In general, we work in a number of distinct ways, depending on what your needs are.
Outsourced waste management
If you produce multiple wastestreams, and employ several different contractors to take your waste away, you can almost certainly benefit from Remsol's unique outsourcing service. In simple terms, this comprehensive service will see us 'ring fence' your waste management needs and take effective strategic and day-to-day responsibility for managing them within agreed budgets and in accordance with relevant environmental laws.
The journey begins with a series of information gathering visits to your site where we learn all about what you do, and meet key individuals that are responsible for the processes that give rise to your waste.
From this, we will craft our proposals for providing you with the service we feel will best meet your requirements. Sometimes, this will see us employ a dedicated manager to work on your site alongside you and your colleagues, in other cases the management resource will work with you at arms length.
We always provide our clients with a baseline review report that sets out the details of our exploratory work, identifying areas of concern and presenting opportunities for improvement.
Once we're in post, we'll begin to improve your waste management practices by appointing new contractors, overhauling the infrastructure used in managing your wastes, and by conducting direct negotiations to achieve unit rate cost reductions. Eventually, we'll help to find ways to modify your business processes in an effort to engineer waste out of them altogether.
We are a true management organisation, which means that we do not operate any of our own waste handling processes or transportation fleets. Instead, we chose to work with a carefully selected and fully audited nationwide network of waste treatment and disposal sites, and specialist haulage providers, that we refer to as 'Performance Partners'. You can rest assured that we vigrorously check and validate their credentials to ensure that they are appropriately authorised to handle your waste in accordance with the Duty of Care.
We charge an annual management fee for our services, and will also recharge the direct costs of waste removal and disposal to you under separate cover, making it easy for you to distinguish between your indirect and direct waste costs.

Ad-hoc waste management
For businesses with specific waste problems, or that are reluctant to outsource this specialist management discipline in its entirety, we are also able to provide a more ad-hoc and less formal waste management service to meet your needs.
We will visit you to evaluate your waste problem or need, obtain samples where appropriate and Material Safety Datasheets, and ask you to complete a declaration of composition for us.
From this, we'll then consider the myriad different options that exist and make our recommendation for your consideration.
If you like what we come up with, we'll get to work making all the necessary arrangements for removal and disposal and will then take responsibility for managing the waste in question on your behalf, leaving you to focus on any remaining wastestreams that you generate.
Again, we will rely on our appointed Performance Partners to carry out the necessary servicing of your wastes under our direct supervision and control, and will supply all relevant waste transfer paperwork pre-completed for ease.

Environmental Consultancy
It really depends on your wants and needs, but in essence we're no different from other consultancy organisations you may have worked with previously.
We start by meeting with you to agree the scope of your project, which is documented in our proposals and forms the basis of our relationship thereafter.
At this early juncture, we invest heavily in getting to know you and your business so that we can determine how best to satisfy your needs and deliver maximum value for money.
We will then submit our proposals for conducting any necessary works, fully highlighting known and estimated costs and providing you with a timeframe for completion along with a key milestone summary.
Any changes to the scope of the project are captured in our Change Managament process, and fully agreed with you (including any revised costs and changes to delivery timescales) before these are implemented.
At the end of our consultancy work with you, we will review the works to ensure you are completely satisfied whilst also extending additional, longer-term support and mentoring to help you get the most from the work we do.
We will typically charge you based on a daily rate.

Bespoke training
If you're looking for bespoke environmental training, to be carried out at your site, we begin by meeting to assess your needs and intentions and to get a feel for the main waste and environmental issues your business faces.
We'll also look at training provided previously by others to cut down on duplication.
Once we have a thorough understanding of your needs, we'll either modify one of our existing tailorable courses or develop an entirely new and unique course just for you. Either way, you can be assured that it will be structured to make it relevant to your business and its needs, as well as ensuring that delegates get maximum learning benefit from attending.
Because the topics we're involved in training are usually pretty dry, we do our best to develop courses and materials that get delegates involved, thinking for themselves, learning through activities and contributing positively to the group.
Before we deliver any training, we'll share details of the course syllabus with you and the course materials, so that you can be sure it will address your identified needs.
All our courses are designed to be competency based.
