your questions answered

Q)  What makes Remsol different?

A)   Unlike our contemporaries, we genuinely strive to put your business needs first.  We are fully independent, with no ties to any particular method of waste processing, and because we don't operate any of our own waste handling facilities or collection fleets, our thinking is totally unencumbered - all of which means we deploy strategies that are entirely focused on helping you to obtain maximum value.  We work without bias to ensure that you benefit from the solution of best fit.

Q)  Why can Remsol obtain better value waste disposal services than I can myself?

A)   Because size matters! We handle thousands of tonnes of waste every year, and that creates buying power that we use to leverage lower prices for our clients.

Q)  How else do you generate savings?

A)  We carefully evaluate all of your waste management needs and then craft tailored solutions aimed at satisfying these fully - which includes ensuring best value.  We achieve this by making sure the infrastructure used to manage your wastes is optimised for your needs; by conducting structured unit rate cost negotiations; and by helping you to minimise the amount of waste you throw away whilst maximising recycling opportunities for what is leftover.

Q)  Who takes care of raising waste transfer paperwork?

A)  We do.  Whether it's office paper for recycling or hazardous waste requiring incineration, we provide all the necessary documentation.

Q)  Can you help me to classify my wastes properly?

A)  Of course.  We'll help you to formulate the correct descriptions, classifications and EWC coding for all your wastes.

Q)  Who makes sure the sites receiving my waste are authorised to do so?

A)   We carefully choose the sites that will receive your waste, subjecting them to a thorough vetting procedure before we commit to using them.  Copies of relevant licences/authorisations/permits are obtained, checked for validity and to ensure that your wastes are listed as being acceptable, and a record of these checks kept for audit purposes.

Q)   What about selection of hauliers to collect my wastes?

A)   Again, we perform a robust series of checks before we appoint anyone to collect your wastes on our behalf.  This includes obtaining copies of Registered Carrier certificates and validating these with the relevant agencies (in England and Wales the Environment Agency; SEPA in Scotland; and the Enivironment & Heritage Service in Northern Ireland).

Q)  I find it hard to keep up with the constantly changing legislation.  Can you advise me?

A)  Keeping up-to-date with environmental legislation can be difficult, especially for smaller organisations that often lack the necessary resources to do so.  Fortunately, it's an area in which we excel.  At Remsol, our combined resources ensure that the regulatory demands placed on businesses are fulfilled, securing solutions today for tomorrow's anticipated problems.

Q)  How will I be invoiced?

A)  We procure all of the necessary waste collection and processing services on your behalf and performance manage the various contractors engaged to remove and dispose of or recycle your wastes.  We maintain complete and accurate records of all transactions, and ensure that waste costs are billed to us accurately.  We then cross-charge these costs to you in the form of a single consolidated monthly invoice that shows all waste removals by date and waste transfer note reference, making it easy for you to validate them.  This also means that you have less invoices to process every month, reducing your administrative burden.

Q)  What about monitoring and reporting?

A)  We can provide a range of summary and detailed reports to show you how much waste has been removed from site each month, breaking this down by method of end processing, whether recycled or disposed of, hazardous or non-hazardous, how far your waste travelled and even how much transport CO2 was emitted in conveying your wastes from cradle to grave.  We can show you total costs, costs per wastestream, costs of hazardous waste vs non-hazardous waste and, where it's possible to identify the source on your site, we can even provide you with cost analysis by business department to enable you to internally re-charge costs.
